Mr Mukherjee today said, ''Nimai Charan Dutta is a vice presidential candidate from our panel for the CAB poll, scheduled for July 30.'' Talking to UNI at his residence, Mr Mukherjee said ''Mr Dutta in a written submission had clarified his position and stated that he was a candidate from our panel.'' Nimai Dutta featured on both the camps list as a vice presidential candidate and both claimed his support.
Mr Dutta's letter read, ''Since I was approached by Mr Prasun Mukherjee first, I would like to declare my allegiance to his panel.'' Prasun further said that election would be held on July 30 like previous years where results would be declared for the president, four vice-presidents and joint secretaries first. Then the working commitee's votes would be counted.
He said that he had been talking extensively to all the clubs and would like to materialise their aspirations.
Mr Mukherjee will be contesting incumbent CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya and try to end the administrator's 15 year reign at the state cricket association.
Now, the vice-presidents' panel figures seven candidates with Prasun Mukherjee having four and Mr Dalmiya's three.
