Bangalore:Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, back in the Indian team after recovering from a shoulder injury, put to test his fitness at the four-day 'Cricket Skill' Camp which began here today for the players, in preparation for the coming tri-series in Sri Lanka.

Tendulkar was seen practising batting along with the other players under the watchful eyes of coach Greg Chappell, trainer Gregory King, Bio Mechanist Ian Frazer and Physio John Gloster at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

The players, after attending a yoga session, assembled in the ground at 0930 hrs and were divided into two groups. While one group practised at the NCA grounds, the other was sent to M Chinnaswamy stadium of the Karnataka State Cricket Association.

Speedster Irfan Pathan, who had a rather forgettable West Indies tour was seen vigorously practising at the nets.

Besides the team selected for the tri-series, five other players--Lakshmipathi Balaji, Murali Kartick, V R V Singh, Robin Uthappa and V V S Laxman-- have also joined the camp on a direction from the Selection Committee. Balaji and Kartick had been out of the team due to injury.

The players sharpened their batting, bowling and fielding skills for four hours before returning to their hotel.

The tri-series in Sri Lanka would begin on August 14, with South Africa being the third team.
