Ganguly's future had generated heated debate across the country since he was sacked as captain and axed from the team following a public spat with coach Greg Chappell last year.
Left-arm fast bowler Zaheer Khan and middle-order batsman Venkatsai Laxman were also named among 30 probables announced by Indian cricket board secretary Niranjan Shah on Wednesday.
