Worcestershire: Medium pacer Dilip Sagar ( 4 for 31) and all-round performance by the twins Nauman and Salman helped Karnataka Institute Of Cricket (KIOC) register a convincing 7 wicket victory over Droitwich Cricket Club, the club that Senior Nawab Of Pataudi played for during the 1930s..

Nauman won the toss and invited Droitwich to take first strike on a dampish wicket. Dilip Sagar struck in the third and fifth over to send back the openers. With some resolute batting, Droitwich C C managed to put up reasonable partnerships. But the KIOC boys were accurate in line and length and picked up wickets at crucial stages.

While Dilip was the pick of the bowlers, Nauman, Salman and Himmath Shekhawat picked up two wickets each to dismiss Droitwich for 201. David Gariff 61 ( 6 fours and one 6 ), Niel Davis 33 and Roger Smith 34 were the main contributors.

Salman and Hanumantharaju gave KIOC a reasonable start putting on 41 runs before Raju was run out for 29. KIOC lost two more wickets before Nauman and Salman paired up to take KIOC to victory without any further damage. Salman remained unbeaten on 59 which included four hits to the fence while Nauman scored 71 not out with nine boundaries.

Droitwich honored Dilip Sagar with the Man of the Match award.
