Mumbai: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Niranjan Shah sought to downplay the issue of changes in the player's contract, according to which the cricketers would have to take permission of the board before entering into their individual contracts with companies.

Speaking to newspersons here, Shah said that they have decided to make some minor changes in the contract, but have kept the players informed and taken their views on it.

''We have very good relations with the players and we will be soliciting their views and taking these into consideration before making the required changes,'' Shah said.

Mr Shah also said that they were not asking the players to take their permission before they enter into individual contracts but have only asked the players to keep the board informed about the contracts they seek to enter into.

''We have only asked the players to wear the logos of the official sponsors of the Indian team during all board functions and events,'' he said.
