Chennai: As part of its technological modernisation, the BCCI will soon be acquiring the ''next generation software'' with expertise from Microsoft, according to team India Analyst S Ramakrishnan.

Mr Ramakrishnan, who has been a key member of the support staff for Team India since 2003, providing the players key 'software solutions' to raise their level of performance, the software being developed for the BCCI would enable it to function with better coordination with its affiliate state associations.

For instance, the networking of the BCCI with its constituents with the help of VSAT, would enable it to carry out video conferencing with the state units or coach Greg Chappell can interact with other state coaches sitting in Mumbai.

''This is the next generation infrastructure,'' he added.

He said a software solution to evaluate and help umpires to raise their level of performance has also been planned. All domestic matches would be videographed and provided with graphics and databack up. An umpire can watch any aspect of his 'job' like LBW decisions, a stumping or a caught behind decision and analyse his own work.
