Former Australian pacer and perhaps all time fastest bowler Jeff Thomson was sought by Indian coach to give tips to Indian seamers, particularly Pathan who is having a tough time with the ball even though he scoring handsomely with the bat.
Thomson spent some twenty minutes with the team along with former Kiwi seamer Danny Morrison. Thomson gave advise to Irfan and Sreesanth on their run-ups and delivery. Morrison standing at one end also took notes on Irfan's bowling and shared his readings with Pathan.
Indian skipper Rahul Dravid said that Irfan was very much in the scheme of things for Team India.
''Irfan's not been bowling that well but that doesn't mean he won't be bowling well in a month's time, or in two months. Irfan remains very much a part of the scheme of things. He lends a lot of balance to the team when he plays, and his ability to do both roles in crucial to us,'' said Dravid.
Pathan has been tipped by legends of the game on earlier occasions too. On his first tour to Australia, Wasim Akram gave vital tips to Pathan. In the recently concluded trip to West Indies Andy Roberts took time off to help Irfan.
