London: Pakistan have roped in former England captain Geoffery Boycott as a witness in the ball-tampering hearing against Inzamam-ul Haq here on September 27 and 28.

Local Media reports said that Boycott will testify in favour of the Pakistan skipper in the ICC hearing.

'The Times' reported that Boycott will appear before match refree Ranjan Madugalle, who will conduct the hearing, and is expected to say that the condition of the ball in the forfeited Oval Test was not altered deliberately.

Boycott, who has already advocated Inzamam's acquittal in the matter, will tell Madugalle that the charges against the Pakistan captain cannot be proved conclusively as their was little evidence to suggest that the ball's condition was changed illegally.
