Lara, a doubtful starter on Wednesday because of back spasms, was declared fit just before the day-night match here on Thursday.
Both the teams have won their opening Group A league matches, with India beating England at Jaipur and the West Indies defeating world champions Australia at Mumbai.
Australia have one victory after two matches, while India and the West Indies have one win after one game. England have lost both of their matches. The top two sides advance to the semi-finals.
Indian seamer Rudra Pratap Singh came in place of off-spinner Ramesh Powar for the only change in the side that played the last game.
The West Indies also made one change, replacing Wavell Hinds with fit-again batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
