Ahmedabad:West Indies captain Brian Lara elected to field after winning the toss against India in the Champions Trophy tournament.

Lara, a doubtful starter on Wednesday because of back spasms, was declared fit just before the day-night match here on Thursday.

Both the teams have won their opening Group A league matches, with India beating England at Jaipur and the West Indies defeating world champions Australia at Mumbai.

Australia have one victory after two matches, while India and the West Indies have one win after one game. England have lost both of their matches. The top two sides advance to the semi-finals.

Indian seamer Rudra Pratap Singh came in place of off-spinner Ramesh Powar for the only change in the side that played the last game.

The West Indies also made one change, replacing Wavell Hinds with fit-again batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

Early blows for India: India took to backseat when Windies new ball bowlers struck early to leave them reeling on 22/2 in 6 overs.

Hat-trick boy Jerome Taylor claimed Sehwag, who failed to capitalise on the good start he had, trapping plumb infront. Irfan (0) followed him to the pavilion immediately for nought when the consistant Bradshaw disturbed his stumps. Sachin Tendulkar (2) and skipper Dravid (0)were at the crease.

West Indies: Brian Lara (capt), Chris Gayle, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Runako Morton, Dwayne Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Dwayne Smith, Carlton Baugh, Ian Bradshaw, Jerome Taylor.
