Kolkata:A tempered 111 from Warnapura saw Sri Lanka A defeat South Zone by three wickets and register a berth in the final of Duleep trophy after a sporty declartion from the hosts set the visitors a target of 273.

South Zone declared their second innings at 33 for four and set Sri Lanka A a target of 273 to win the tie.

Sri Lanka A went about their job with clinical precision. But they kept losing wickets at regular intervals, till Warnapura and J Silva came together for a 137-run seventh wicket partnership to seal the fate of the match.

While warnapura remained unbeaten on 111 with 13 boundaries, J Silva was bowled on 65 by Yo Mahesh. Silvas innings had nine boundaries.

O Maheshw was the pick of the South bowlers taking six for 71, while Ojha took one wicket. Sreeshant and P Reddy did not impress with their efforts.
