Selection convenor Haroon Lorgat told Reuters today that his panel had left the squad intact for the first game, in Johannesburg on Nov 19, in anticipation of good performances from other players in imminent matches.
The semi-finals of the domestic one-day championship will be played on Friday and Sunday with the final scheduled for next Friday.
India will play a tour match against a Rest of South Africa XI in Benoni on Nov. 16.
''Those games will give us a lot of information from which we can shape the squad for the rest of the (five) one-day games against India,'' Lorgat said.
Lorgat added that ''we haven't been satisfied with the way the current squad has performed over the past year''.
South Africa lost to West Indies in the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy, one of their two defeats in the four matches they played in the tournament.
The Rest of South Africa squad of 15 will be captained by Ashwell Prince, and includes 10 other players who have been capped at international level.
The uncapped players are all rounders Vernon Philander and Alfonso Thomas, off-spinner Thandi Tshabalala, and batsman Arno Jacobs.
