Johannesburg:Proteas were restricted to 126-9 from their 20 overs after electing to bat first in the Twenty20 clash against India in Joburg.

Graeme Smith and Justin Kemp both fired three fours, but Albie Morkel hit three over the ropes in his 27 in 18 balls.

However, after he fell in the 16th over there was lull in big hits.

Zaheer Khan was the pick among the Indian bowlers with 2-15 from his four overs, with Ajit Agarkar claiming 2-10 before he was forced off with a injury.

Smith hit two fours in the second over of the match, bowled by Sri Sreesanth, but lost Loots Bosman in the next, who was caught at slip.

Having hit a third boundary off Sreesanth, Smith was the third wicket to fall, again claimed by Zaheer, trapped in front by an angling delivery for 16 from the final ball of the seventh over.

Morkel hit a four and six in successive balls off Irfan Pathan, and continued the momentum despite heavy rain with maximums in the next two overs, before holing out to mid-off with the score on 101.
