Mirpur (Bangladesh):Bangladesh boosted their chances of completing a sweep when they restricted Zimbabwe to 193-8 despite a fighting 75 from Stuart Matsikenyeri in the fifth and final one-day international here.

Put in to bat, Zimbabwe were strongly placed at 138-3 before faltering against a disciplined Bangladeshi attack on Saturday.

Opener Matsikenyeri alone offered stiff resistance, hitting seven fours in his 114-ball knock for his fourth half-century in one-day internationals. He put on 63 for the second wicket with Chamu Chibhabha (27).

Zimbabwe's slide began with the dismissal of Elton Chigumbura (27), who was caught behind off spinner Mehrab Hossain with the total on 138. They eventually failed to cross the 200 mark, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Seamer Mashrafe Mortaza was the most successful bowler, claiming the last three wickets to finish with 3-36 off 10 overs. Hossain grabbed 2-30.

Bangladesh lead 4-0 in the series.

Brief Scores:

Zimbabwe 193 for 8 (Stuart Matsikenyeri 75, Chibhaba 27, Chigumbura 27; Mortaza 3 for 36, Mehrab Hossain 2 for 30, Razzak 1 for 27) Vs Bangladesh
