Electing to bat, Scotland were bowled out for 153 in 45.1 overs here on Friday. Bangladesh reached their target in just 29.1 overs as Aftab Ahmed scored a quickfire 66 off 50 balls, with nine fours and three sixes.
Scotland, who lost their only previous one-dayer against Bangladesh by 22 runs in the 1999 World Cup, failed miserably. Wicketkeeper-batsman Colin Smith top-scored with a 59-ball 30.
Seamers Shahadat Hossain and Mashrafe Mortaza ripped through the top order, sharing five wickets, leaving the spinners with the easy task of restricting the lower-order batsmen.
Ahmed then shared a 92-run stand for the second wicket with Shahriar Nafees (36) as Bangladesh scored their seventh straight win in one-dayers, including a 5-0 drubbing of Zimbabwe in a recent home series.
Scotland 153 in 45.1 overs (Colin Smith 30, Gavin Hamilton 29, Ross Lyons 28; Shahadat Hossain 3-38, Abdur Razzak 2-16, Mashrafe Mortaza 2-49) lost to Bangladesh 154 for 4 in 29.1 overs (Aftab Ahmed 66, Shahriar Nafees 36; Ross Lyons 2-52)
