Karnataka gain upper hand against Tamil Nadu

Bangalore:Tamil Nadu were struggling at 119 for four in their first innings after allowing Karnataka to rattle up 426 on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' match played at M Chinnaswamy stadium here today.

Resuming at the overnight score of 309 for six, the hosts added 119 more runs with skipper Yere Goud making a patient 85. Goud added 51 runs for seventh wicket with B Akhil (73) to take Karnataka to a commanding position.

Medium pacer C Ganapathy (3/61) and off spinner R Ashwin (3/89) were the most successful bowlers for the visitors.

Karnataka made early inroads in the Tamil Nadu innings when opener S Anirudha was run out by Gaurav Dhiman without the scoreboard being ticked, while left arm spinners Sunil Joshi and Apanna and medium pacer C Raghu claimed one wicket each.
