Sri Lanka recall veterans to World Cup squad

Colombo:Sri Lanka's cricket selectors here recalled several veteran players to their squad for this year's World Cup.

Among those recalled to the 30-member squad are Russel Arnold and Upul Chandana, veterans of over 200 one-day international appearances between them.

Former skipper Marvan Atapattu also finds a place in the side despite fitness concerns.

The squad also features at least four uncapped players.

WC probables; Mahela Jayawardena, Marvan Atapattu, Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Avishka Gunawardena, Mahela Udawatta, Kumar Sangakkara, T.M Dilshan, Chamara Kapugedera, Malinda Warnapura, Russel Arnold, Prasanna Jayawardena, Chamara Silva, Farveez Maharoof, Chaminda Vaas, Ruchira Perera, Dilhara Fernando, Ishara Amarasinghe, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Kulasekera, Nuwan Zoysa, Akalanka Ganegama, Dilhara Lokuhettige, Muttiah Muralitharan, Rangana Herath, Malinga Bandara, Kaushal Lokuarachchi, Gayan Wijekoon, Upul Chandana and Dhammika Prasad.
