Australia defeat New Zealand by two wickets

Sydney:Australia beat New Zealand by two wickets in the fifth tri-series one-day international at the Sydney Cricket Ground today.

New Zealand were bowled out for 218 in their innings and Australia got the 219 required for victory for the loss of eight wickets with eight balls to spare.


Michael Clarke made 75 while Mike Hussey remained unbeaten on 65 after hitting Nathan Astle for six to seal Australia's fourth win of the series.

Craig McMillan top scored for New Zealand with 89 after helping the Kiwis recover from 136-7 and post a competitive score.
