Telecast row: Nimbus agrees to share live feed

New Delhi:Prasar Bharati and Nimbus Communications on Saturday arrived at a consensus before the Delhi High Court to telecast the final ODI between India and Sri Lanka at Visakhapatnam on Feb 17 live on Doordarshan.

The Union Govt which served showcause notice on Nimbus on Tuesday, asking the latter to comply by an ordinance which made it mandatory for all private broadcasters to share live feed of 'all games of national importance' with Doordarshan and AIR or risk annulment of its license. Nimbus was asked to file its reply by the evening of Feb 14.

Appearing before a bench of Justice Vikramjit Sen, Nimbus agreed to share live feed if the government withdrew the threat of punitive action. The government agreed to this demand, promising the court not to take any action till March 9, the next date of hearing.
