Tikolo chooses to bowl against Canada

Gros Islet (St Lucia):Kenya captain Steve Tikolo won the toss and elected to field against Canada in their World Cup Group C match on Wednesday.

Both teams were as expected with Kenyan captain Steve Tikolo returning for a fourth World Cup and Canada's Anderson Cummins becoming only the second man to play for two nations at two World Cups.

He played for West Indies in the 1992 tournament.

Canada's batting lineup differed from the official team sheet with Geoff Barnett and Abdool Samad opening and captain John Davison dropping down the order.


Kenya: Maurice Ouma, David Obuya, Ravi Shah, Steve Tikolo (capt), Tanmay Mishra, Collins Obuya, Thomas Odoyo, Jimmy Kamande, Nehemiah Odhiambo, Peter Ongondo and Hiren Varaiya.

Canada: John Davison (capt), Geoff Barnett, Abdool Samad, Ashish Bagai, Ian Billcliff, Ashif Mulla, Qaiser Ali, Sunil Dhaniram, Umar Bhatti, Anderson Cummins and Henry Osinde.
