Jharkhand cricketer Amit Kumar passes away

Jamshedpur:Jharkhand cricketer Amit Kumar Singh died in a Mumbai hospital yesterday after sustaining a severe head injury on April 15.

Amit (24) went to Mumbai as a member of Tata Steel team to take part in the Inter-Steel Plant Cricket Tournament.

He sustained critical injuries when a motorbike hit him as he was crossing the road along with two others, company sources said.

Amit was admitted to Bombay Hopsital but after battling for his life for last four days, he died yesterday, the sources said.

The cricket fraternity, including Jharkhand State Cricket Association condoled the demise of the young cricketer.

Amit was a member of Jharkhand state Ranji one-day squad two year's back and also represented the state team in Under-22,19 and 16 tourneys.
