Bangalore:The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) aims to do away with the appointment of foreign coaches to train players by entrusting the task of producing able coaches with the National Cricket Academy.

''our aim is to do away with employing foreign coaches any further from level one, two and three and it was decided to provide training to the selected coaches,''NCA Director (Coaching) Lalchand Rajput, said at the inauguration of training programme for Under-17 players here.

''The NCA has even decided to come out with a coaching manual for coaches and draft copy of the manual is ready and will be send to the Board for approval,'' he said.

Mr Rajput said, ''So far we were influenced by coaching guidelines from foreign cricket playing countries. But with our own coaching manual we can prepare good coaches of our own.''

Stating that coaching for coaches would be increased, he said, former top players and trainers had been identified. Besides, it was also decided to have physios, trainers and other supporting staff from within the country.
