Sydney:In its bid to honour Ricky Ponting and Co for their record-breaking third successive World Cup win, the Australia Post has announced that it will produce a souvenir stamp sheet to celebrate the occasion.

According to the Cricket Australia (CA) website, this special edition stamp sheet will feature two images of the World champions celebrating with the World Cup trophy on the selvedge around the ten 50-cent stamps.

Each stamp tab will also feature an image of the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy along with the match score of the final.

''The Australian cricket team has once again done the nation proud and reinforced its position as the greatest cricket team in the world,'' exclaimed Noel Leahy, Group Manager Philatelic, Australia Post.

''Australia Post is delighted to be able to celebrate this latest achievement with a special edition stamp sheet, which will be available around the country from May 8, a week after the tournament was secured,'' he added.

The stamp sheet, designed as a unique and affordable memento of Australia's historic win, will be available in a green presentation envelope at a price of 15.95 Aussie dollars.

Australia Post had earlier this year, released a stamp issue celebrating the Aussies' historic 3 mobile Ashes Test whitewash over England.

CA to pay special tribute to McGrath: Cricket Australia will pay a special tribute to bowling legend Glenn McGrath in recognition of the yeoman service he has rendered to Australian and world cricket.

The tribute will be as part of a public reception to World Cup-winning team and its coach John Buchanan here on Thursday.

Members of the record-breaking side will be presented to the public at 12 pm by New South Wales Premier Morris Iemma at the Martin Place Amphitheatre between Pitt and Castlereagh Streets.

The reception will run for approximately 45 minutes and will feature interviews with captain Ricky Ponting and Buchanan, besides the special video tribute to McGrath at his last official function as an Australian
