The world's richest cricket setup, BCCI, suffered a rap on the knuckles when unheralded Graham Ford declined its offer to be the coach of Team India for one year.
That Ford took less then a day to refuse Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) offer to be its coach has left the mandarins of the establishment red-faced and they must be scurrying for cover.
And tomorrow, when BCCI's Working Committee meets here, the red-faced officials will have a lot to explain.
The meeting was to approve the one year contract of Ford but will now have to grapple with his outright rejection of the offer.
The BCCI has been humbled by little known South African coach, whose past is not without blemish, and it will definitely affect the Indian establishment's clout and authority among the cricket playing countries.
The 'Ford episode' is all set to dominate tomorrow's meeting, putting other issues like players' contract and Zee Group's proposed Indian Cricket League on the backburner.
As per the agenda of the meeting, the committee is also to give a final shape to the itinerary of the upcoming series against Australia and Pakistan.
