Bangalore:Team India seamer Zaheer Khan, who suffered a groin injury in the just-concluded Afro-Asia Cup, will be considered for the Ireland tour where India plays South Africa in a one-day series, BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah said today.

Speaking to newspersons at the M Chinnaswamy stadium where Indian batsmen were undergoing a fitness camp, he said Zaheer would be considered for the tour. ''We will consider Zaheer for selection. We will take the full report from physio John Gloster about his fitness. The speedster has picked up a groin injury. However, MRI scan report has cleared him of any serious injury,'' he said.

The left arm seamer stopped bowling soon after beginning the attack in the second one-day match between Asia and Africa yesterday after suffering a groin injury and reports suggested that he was out of the Irish tour.

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar joined the camp today. The Master Blaster had missed the first two days of the four-day camp, after taking prior permission from the BCCI.

The players, including Rahul Dravid, V V S Laxman, Dinesh Mongia, Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma, Mohammad Kaif and S Badrinath, were seen sweating it out at the stadium.

Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, who played in the Afro-Asia cup one-day matches that concluded in Chennai yesterday, were likely to join the camp tomorrow.

Wasim Jaffer, who was suffering from flu, did not turn up on the third day of the camp today.

The team for the Ireland tour would be picked in Delhi tomorrow and the team would assemble in Mumbai on June 19 and leave the same day. Prior to that, the team would undertake a preparatory camp here from June 13 to 17.
