Bangladesh to field in first one-dayer against Sri Lanka

Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful won the toss and elected to field in the first one-day international against Sri Lanka at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium here.

Sanath Jayasuriya returned to the top of the order for the hosts after missing out on the Test series while Bangladesh boosted their batting by including Aftab Ahmed and Tamim Iqbal.

The remaining two one-dayers will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium here on July 23 and July 25.

Sri Lanka: Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene (capt), Chamara Silva, Tillakratne Dilshan, Jehan Mubarak, Farveez Maharoof, Malinga Bandara, Lasith Malinga, Dilhara Fernando.

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Shahriar Nafees, Tushar Imran, Mohammad Ashraful (capt), Shakib Al Hasan, Aftab Ahmed, Mushfiqur Rahim, Farhad Reza, Mashrafe Mortaza, Abdur Razzak, Syed Rasel.
