Jayawardene opts to field against Bangladesh

Colombo:Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and elected to field in the second one-dayer against Bangladesh at the R. Premadasa Stadium here.

While Sri Lanka retained the team that won the first one-dayer here by 70 runs, Bangladesh had to leave out injured bowling spearhead Mashrafe Mortaza.

Mortaza, who sustained an ankle injury on Sunday, was replaced by Shahadat Hossain.

The third and last one-dayer will be played here on Wednesday.

Teams:

Sri Lanka: Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Mahela Jayawardene (capt), Chamara Silva, Tillakratne Dilshan, Jehan Mubarak, Farveez Maharoof, Malinga Bandara, Lasith Malinga and Dilhara Fernando.

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Shahriar Nafees, Tushar Imran, Mohammad Ashraful (capt), Shakib Al Hasan, Aftab Ahmed, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Farhad Reza, Shahadat Hossain, Abdur Razzak and Syed Rasel.

Umpires: Hirantha Wijewardene (SL) and Rudi Koertzen (RSA) and TV umpire: Ranmor Martinesz (SL).

Match referee: Jeff Crowe (NZ).
