Lahore: Lured by the big dosier of money, out of favour opener Imran Farhat became the first Pakistani cricketer to switch loyalities as he informed that he is all set to ink a deal with the beleaguered Indian Cricket League (ICL) on the cost of his national duties.

''I have decided to play in the ICL. I am all set to sign a deal with them,'' said Farhat who has been overlooked by the national selectors for the next month's Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa inspite of his consistent showing in the domestic circuit.

Incidentally, Farhat, who has played 27 Tests and 33 one-day internationals, also became the first player to return the PCB's central contract as he felt insecured about his cricketing future.

''Look what has happened to me in the past six or seven months and I am not comfortable with that. I don't only want a central contract but I want playing opportunities,'' he said.

Coming down heavily on the contents of the newly issued contracts, the 25-year-old dashing left-hander said, ''It is a one-way document and the board controls everything.''

His commitment to the private league will help him pocket approximately 300,000 dollars for a season, but may just cost him a future berth in the national side with the PCB already coming out with a stringent warning to its players saying, ''Any player who chooses to participate in the multi-million-dollar rebel league will not be considered for future selection in the national team.''

Interestingly, Pakistan's other two dejected senior pros -- Mohammed Yousuf and Abdul Razzaq -- were also in the pipeline to join the rebel league and are yet to sign the PCB's central contracts as they are still weighing both the offers.
