Mumbai skipper Jaffer to miss Nisar Trophy tie

Mumbai: Indian Test opener Wasim Jaffer has been ruled out of Mumbai's match against Pakistan national champions' Karachi Urban to be held in Pakistan port city due to a knee injury.

Jaffer (29), who had been named captain of the Mumbai team for the annual four-day Mohammad Nisar Trophy beginning from Sept 8, has been advised to take six weeks rest but is expected to be fit for the home Test series against Pakistan starting Nov 22, Mumbai Cricket Association sources told UNI here today.

The Mohammad Nisar Trophy is contested by the national champions of India - Ranji Trophy champions and Pakistan Qaid-e-Azam Trophy.
