Guwahati: Three upcoming cricketers including India Colts' paceman Abu Nachim have joined the Indian Cricket League (ICL) leaving Assam Cricket Association (ACA) in teething troubles for Ranji preparation.
Besides Nachim, Sujay Tarafdrr and Pervez Aziz are the other two promising Assam cricketers to have defected to rebel cricket - ICL while in Chennai to play Buchi Babu invitational event.

''The team had gone to play Buchi Babu tourney and from there these three defected to ICL'', siad ACA secretary Bikash Barua, who planned to file an FIR against the three missing cricketers before realising the action of trio.

Abu and Sujay are medium pacers and Pervez is an opening batsman.

All of them were U-19 India players and are mainstay of Assam's Ranji squad. The team has already made an premature exit from the ongoing Buchi Babu invitational event and was scheduled to leave for Hyderabad today to play in the Moin-Ud-Doula tournament there.

Assam manager Umananda Bora told UNI from Chennai the three players had left their hotel rooms at dawn quietly.

Abu has the potential to make to the Indian senior team as he had been performing tremendously with the India U-19 during the last couple of years. Last year he was the member of the Indian team in the u-19 World Cup and emerged as one of the most successful players. Recently he did duty for the Indian team in a triangular series in Sri Lanka. Pervez was also a member of the India Colts last year.

Some team mates said two vehicles arrived at the team hotel around 0600 hours and the three players loaded their luggage and drove away to an undisclosed location.

''We were completely taken aback when they came to us yesterday morning to say goodbye informing us that they had joined the ICL,'' another team member Nishanta Bardoloi said.

Assam's status is not very high in domestic cricket but those three players had brought new hopes for the ACA.
