Bangalore: The Scots bowled and fielded exceptionally well to restrict Pakistan to a modest 171 for 9 in Group-D Twenty20 Cup tie at Kingsmead in Durban on Wednesday.
Scots opening attack bowled to a discplined line and length in contrast with Pak's reckless batting at top which led to several soft dismissals. Skipper Watson's decision to bowl first paid off immediatly with Blain sending the openers packing. First change Wright dismissed Mohd Hafeez to leave Pak reeling on 50/3.

However the middle order led by veteren Younis Khan resurrected Pak innings with some lusty hitting. Younis topscored with a well compiled 41. Misbah-ul-Haq (23 off 14 balls) and Afridi (22 off 7) played a little cameo knocks to help their side to a modest 171.

Craig Wright bowled to an immaculate line and length and returned with the figures of 3 for 33 in his four overs while John Blain, Nel and Majid Haq claimed two wickets apiece.

Brief Scores:

Pakistan 171 for 9 (Younis Khan 41, Misbah-ul-Haq 23, Shahid Afridi 22; Wright 3 for 33, Blain 2 for 23, Nel 2 for 25) Vs Scotland.
