England bat against Zimbabwe

England won the toss and sent Zimbabwe in to bat in their World Twenty20 match at Newlands.

Zimbabwe fielded an unchanged team following their five-wicket win over tournament favourites Australia at the same ground Wednesday.

England were playing in their first match of the tournament.

The weather was partly cloudy and mild.

England: Paul Collingwood (captain), Darren Maddy, Matt Prior, Luke Wright, Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff, Owais Shah, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Chris Schofield, Stuart Broad, James Anderson.

Zimbabwe: Prosper Utseya (captain), Vusi Sibanda, Brendan Taylor, Hamilton Masakadza, Chamu Chibhabha, Tatenda Taibu, Elton Chigumbura, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Keith Dabengwa, Gary Brent, Tawanda Mupariwa.

Umpires: Tony Hill (NZL), Asad Rauf (PAK). Third umpire: Ian Howell (RSA). Match referee: Ranjan Madugalle (SRI).
