Bangalore; India dasher Yuvraj Singh's fighting 116-ball 121 run knock went in vain as Australia cantered to a 47-run win in the third one-dayer at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday.
Yuvraj smashed 12 fours and three sixes before Mitchell dismissed him in the death overs. Yuvi shared 95 runs with Sachin (43) and 65 runs with Dhoni (33) for the fourth and fifth wicket stand respectively to keep India in the hunt after the first three wickets fell in the first five overs. However It was a big ask for India chasing a daunting 291-run target as wickets tumbled in regular intervels. India fell short of 47 runs in the end.
Lee and Hogg took three wickets each while Johnson claimed two including the prized wicket of Yuvraj.
Earlier Adam Gilchrist and Matt Hayden shared 76 in 13.2 overs as Australia compiled 290 for 7 after opting to bat.
Andrew Symonds and Michael Clarke shared 123 in 16 overs, Symonds with five sixes in a superb 89 off 67 balls.

The tourists lead the seven-match ODI series 2-0 after clinching the second match by 84 runs at Kochi while the first one-dayer was abandoned due to rain at Bangalore.
