Badrinath replaces injured Gambhir for Australia ODIs

GambhirTeam India opener Gautam Gambhir has been ruled out for two weeks after he sustained a right adductor muscle strain during the practice session in Chandigarh and will be replaced by S Badrinath in the team.

Gambhir slipped while batting in the nets and went through an MRI scan revealing a significant injury, according to a press release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

In the release, BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah confirmed that from initial findings and clinical presentation ''it appears that he will be unavailable for approximately two weeks.''

Sachin injury not serios: Physio: Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar sustained a knee injury while batting at the fourth ODI here on Monday, following which he did not take the field during the entire Australia innings.

Sachin suffered from a strain on his knee during his 79-run innings today which set alarm bells ringing in the Indian dressing room.

However, Team India physio, John Gloster while revealing that ''Sachin suffered from a mild strain'' asserted that there was ''no serious concern as of now and he would be fit in time for the next game''. But he said that a final assessment on the recovery would be made in a day's time.
