Canada's under-strength cricket team have arrived in Kenya for an African tour building up to the 2007-08 Intercontinental Cup tournament in Namibia.
The team arrived in Kenya on Monday night, officials told AFP.
The two-time Intercontinental Cup finalists have been hit by player withdrawals and retirements following a disappointing performance in the Cricket World Cup in the West Indies.
Only five members of the team that contested this year's World Cricket League in Kenya have accompanied the side being restructured for the next ICC Trophy tournament and the 2011 World Cup.
Guyana-born Sunil Dhaniram will act as stand-in captain in place of all-rounder Ashish Bagai, who replaced John Davison after May's World Cup but who has pulled out due to work committments.
The Canadians open their tour with a match against Kenya A on Wednesday, followed by two one-day internationals against Kenya after the four-day Intercontinental Cup tie.
They travel to Namibia for another ICC Intercontinental Cup fixture in Windhoek on October 25-28.
