Lahore: Even after controversial umpire Darrell Hair dropped his racial discrimination charges against the ICC, the simmering tension between the Aussie and PCB refuses to die down, with Pakistan board firing another salvo at the Aussie saying he is still unfit to umpire at international level.

''At the moment the PCB's position is that Hair is unfit to officiate in the elite panel and its up to the ICC to revisit the stance on him,'' Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Nasim Ashraf told reporters.

Hair was barred by International Cricket Council (ICC) from officiating in Test matches following last year's Oval Test fiasco.

Dismissing the talk of Hair coming back in the ICC's elite panel as ''optimism of speculation'', Ashraf said, ''We do not have any dispute with Hair and there is no personal thing but on our judgement he failed at The Oval.'' The PCB chairman, however, hoped that ICC's rehabilitation process would help ''improve his behaviour and this is a positive step.'' ''It will be up to the ICC to decide about his comeback and it's up to them to consider if and whether Hair may be considered for the elite panel,'' Ashraf said.
