Ton-up Symonds powers Australia to 317/8

Nagpur: Andrew Symonds hit a strokeful107 not out as Australia posted a healthy 317 for 8 in the sixth one-day international against India here at Vidharba Cricket Association Stadium on Sunday.

The all-rounder smashed nine fours and four sixes in his blazing 88-ball innings as Australia once again put India's bowlers to task.

Adam Gilchrist chipped in with 51, while captain Ricky Ponting - who the toss and decided to bat - scored 49.

Zaheer, who bowled with lots of firepower early on was pick among Indian bowlers with two for 62 in his 10 overs while Sreesanth, Pathan, Harbhajan and Karthik took one apiece.

Victory in Nagpur would secure Australia the series victory.

Both teams made one change from the last match in Vadodara with Australia replacing injured opener Matt Hayden with Brad Haddin, while India brought in seamer Sree Santh for left-armer RP Singh.
