Australia skipper Ricky Ponting won the toss and elected to bat in the sixth one-day international against India here.
Australia made one change from the side that won the fifth game in Vadodara by nine wickets, bringing in Brad Haddin for the injured Matthew Hayden.
The Indians brought in mercurial fast bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth in place of left-arm seamer Rudra Pratap Singh.
India must win the match to stay in the series, which Australia lead 3-1. The seventh and last one-dayer will be played in Mumbai on Wednesday.
