According to information received here, Team India received a cash award of Rs 15 lakh for winning the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa last month, while Australia won the 'International Cricket Team' award along with a cash prize of US$10,000.
Sri Lanka's champion off spinner Muttiah Muralitharan won the 'International Cricketer of the Year' award and 'International Bowler of the Year'awards which had a cash prize of US$7,500 and US$5000 dollars respectively while Mahela Jayawardene bagged the 'International Batsman' award with a prize money of US$5000.
The Lifetime Achievement award recipients have been selected on the basis of the Retro-CEAT cricket ratings, and have taken into consideration the performances of Indian and Australian players in mutual Test matches since 1947.
Eminent cricketers from India and Australia were present at the awards function besides the glitterati of Mumbai.
