ICL unveils teams, logos and gears

Indian Cricket LeagueMumbai: The rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL), a venture by Essel Group, officially unveiled name, gear and logo of six participating teams at a glittering event here on Tuesday.

ICL has roped in renowned designer Manish Arora to design the Team uniforms in keeping with the ethos of ICL. The inspiration to design these uniforms has been drawn from what each city stands for and is customised to reflect each city"s ideology. The colours of the graphics are very vibrant, exude energy and positive attitude that represents team spirit and marks a new beginning in the lives of these young cricketers.

The six teams, whose logos and gears were unveiled today, included Mumbai Champs, Cheenai Super Stars, Chandigarh Lions, Hyderabad Warriors, Kolkata Tigers and Delhi Jets.

ICL chairman (executive board) Kapil Dev said ''It is indeed heartening to see new talent being offered an ideal platform, such as the ICL, to showcase and support their talent.

This League provides them with the best facilities in terms of coaching, showcasing of their talent and exposure to international cricket.'' He added ''The Team gear has been especially designed in keeping with the international standards and hence we have signed on Manish Arora to design the outfits of six teams that reflect the spirit of new cricket.''

Manish Arora on his association with ICL said ''The uniforms I have designed for Indian Cricket League are just like the game itself it is something very new, fresh, colorful and dynamic. I am sure we will all enjoy watching this fast paced game with the energy and vibrancy, which I have tried to incorporate into the uniforms.''

The ICL also announced the first list of partners for the 20-20 tournament to be held at Chandigarh later this month. The first list of partners are Microsoft, Provogue, TCI and Sab Miller.
