New Delhi: Riding on impressive performances by the seamers, Delhi recorded an easy 172 run victory over Rajasthan in their Ranji Trophy Super League Group 'A' match here at the Firoz Shah on Wednesday.
Resuming their overnight score of 188 for the loss of seven wickets, the eighth-wicket partnership between Shailender Gehlot and Robin Bisht delayed the inevitable for the Rajasthan team as they tried in vain to keep the Delhi bowlers at bay.
Their 69-run-partnership came to an end when Gehlot was trapped lbw by skipper Mithun Manhas.
The Rajasthan innings, thereafter, folded up soon as they lost their last two wickets in a span of four runs.
The visitors could only muster a mere 249 runs as against the victory target of 422.
It was a disappointing batting performance by them with as many as six of their batsmen failing to reach double figures.
The Delhi skipper had a superb outing as he displayed all-round skills, scoring century in the second innings and topping it with a couple of wickets, including the vital wicket of Gehlot.
Delhi is now leading Group 'A', two points ahead of defending champions Mumbai. They will play their next match against Saurashtra here starting from Nov 15.
