Munaf, Bahutule skittle out Rajasthan for 105

Jaipur: Superb bowling by Munaf Patel (4 for 54) and Sairaj Bahutule (3 for 2) helped Maharashtra bundle out the host Rajasthan for a paltry 105 and then made 155 for 3 on the opening day of their four-day Ranji Trophy Super League Group-A tie at the K L Saini Stadium here on Thursday.

Patel discarded from the national team, exploited the green top strip to wreck the Rajasthan top order. Former international Gagan Khoda top scored with 43 before conceding his wicket to Patel.  Vinit Saxena (10) and Afroz Khan (21 not out) were the only other batsmen to reach the double figure.

Veteran Bahutule chopped off Rajasthan tail capturing last three wickets in only 2.4 overs conceding only two runs.

Maharashtra made a solid start with openers VV More and HH Khadiwale putting on 69 runs before More was dismissed by Afroz for 32 (73m, 37balls, 6x4).

Afroz took another wicket removing Jadhav caught behind for 8. Venugopal Rao and Takawale were batting with 26 and 26 runs respectively at the draw of stumps.  Afroz took two for 34 and Pankaj Singh picked up one for 49 for hosts.
