Mumbai: The Chairman of selectors, Dilip Vengsarkar continued to defy the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gag orders of not interacting with media nor penning a column in newspapers.
Vengsarkar is continuing to write a column 'Cover Drive' in some newspapers, notably the Marathi daily 'Sakal', owned by the brother of BCCI chief Sharad Pawar. The latest column appeared yesterday (Friday).
Confirming that Vengsarkar has been asked not to write his columns, BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah said, ''He has been told not to write his column. If it's brought to our notice (that he's still writing his column) we will look into it.''
Recently, the BCCI office-bearers also decided not to allow Vengsarkar address the customary media conference on Wednesday after the selection of the Indian Test team for the first two Tests against Pakistan.
