Ranji Trophy: Rajasthan in a spot of bother

Jaipur: Despite a 73-run second wicket stand between Gagan Khoda (44) and Nikhil Doru (29) hosts Rajasthan were struggling at 155 for 6 against Saurashtra on day two of their four-day Ranji Trophy Super League Group-A tie here at K L Saini Stadium on Saturday.

Rajasthan, after restricting Saurashtra for 307 in their first innings (over night 220 for 5) were still trailing by 152 runs with four wickets in hand. Afroz Khan and Shamsher Singh were batting with 4 and 2 runs respectively at the draw of stumps.

Saurashtra with their overnight score lost Jadeja who could add only five runs to his previous total when he was declared leg before to medium pacer Pankaj Singh.

He added 69 for the sixth wicket with Jaidev Shah who too was out for 71 caught behind off the same bowler. Among the tailenders only Rakesh Dhruv could resist before Rajasthan bowlers as he returned unbeaten on 46 with seven fours. Skipper Mohammed Aslam dismissed KR Makwana and Jobanputra both leb before. Pankaj Singh caputured four for 91, Mohammed Aslam 3 for 54 and Afroz Khan 2 for 33.

Besides Khoda and Nikhil Doru partnership, no other Rajasthan batsmen could last long at the crease. Vineet Saxena was bowled by Jobanputra 26 and Robin Bist was too bowled by Dhruv for 21.

Jobanputra and RV Dhruv each took two wickets conceeding 40 and 35 runs for Saurashtra.
