Anantapur: Karnataka eves bundled out Mumbai to 151 in their first essay on day one of the three-day Senior National Women"s Cricket C'ships tie at the R D T stadium here on Sunday.
Mumbai won the toss and decided to bat first. Karnataka medium pacers Mamata Maben and Vanitha V R bowled a superb line and tidy length which denied Mumbai girls a chance to stroke freely. Mamatha struck the first blow in the 9th over to send back Amita Patil. Karnataka eves' bowlers never allowed their Mumbai counterparts to forge partnerships bowling them out for a paltry 151 in 85 overs.
India opener Monica Sumra top scored for Mumbai with a patient 63 including seven boundary hits. Neelima Patil chipped in with a useful 27.
Mamatha Maben and Sunitha Vasudevan plucked three wickets apiece while Vilasini and Deepika Babu took two wickets each.
Karnataka were 6 for no loss at the end of the first day"s play.
