Bangalore: Pakistani skipper Shoaib Malik was today ruled out for the third and final Test against India to be played here from December 8 to 12.

Malik, who had twisted his right ankle while playing football after the team's defeat in the first Test in New Delhi, was out of the team in the drawn Kolkata Test.

Stand-in captain Yousuf Khan will again lead the team in the Test match here.

Pakistan media Manager Easan Malik told reporters that Malik was advised rest for five more days as there was ''still some pain, tenderness and limitations in movement'' after he consulted a surgeon. The ankle has been replastered.

Malik said it was a 'grade one' ankle injury.

The other players, however, were all fully fit and in good heatlh, he added.

Meanwhile, medium pacer Rao Iftikhar Anjum, who replaced seamer Umar Gul, has joined the team.
