London: All-rounder Darren Maddy and wicket-keeper Tim Ambrose have agreed contract extensions with Warwickshire.

The duo have both signed new three-year deals taking them to the end of 2010, with Maddy named as captain for the second successive season.

Of his captain, Warwickshire director of cricket Ashley Giles, commented: "It is great to secure his services for the next three years.

"He has vast experience and I am looking forward to working with him."

Maddy added that he is delighted to commit himself to the Bears: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club and to be offered the captaincy two years running is a real honour.

"I will be in charge of a young team and I am looking forward to rebuilding in 2008 with Ashley and the coaching team."
