New Delhi: A fine six wicket haul by S K Trivedi helped Gujarat defeat Madhya Pradesh (MP) by 159 runs on the penultimate day of their five-day Ranji Trophy Plate League semi-final here today.

Chasing an improbable target of 365 runs, MP were all-out for 205 with Trivedi returning six for 61.

Except for Jatin Saxena (66), the MP batsmen never managed to settle down and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

In the final, Gujarat will face the winners of the second semi-final between Railways and Kerala being played at Nagpur.
