Pitch invader with monkey mask at Adelaide OvalAdelaide: Aussie fan wearing a monkey mask was arrested after found sprinting on to the Adelaide Oval during Andrew Symonds' innings on Sunday.

The man was being held by Adelaide police last night and will face charges of tresspassing.

His intrusion on to the playing surface temporarily halted play and came moments before Symonds was dismissed.

"This is a police matter," said Cricket Australia's anti-racism officer Peter Young. "Trespassing is a serious issue. No one wants a repeat of the (Terry) Alderman situation where a player ended up hurt."

The intruder ran between India's fieldsmen and rolled across the turf before being restrained by guards.

Symonds was taunted with monkey chants during Australia's one-day tour of India last year.
