ICL 50s: Hyd Heroes overpower Mumbai Champs

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Heroes handed Mumbai Champs a crushing 80-run defeat in their ICL 50s tie here on Wednesday.

Heroes, electing to bat first, posted a solid 276/8 in 50 overs. Opener Shashank Nag scored 63 runs of 64 balls, including 11 boundaries. Lower-order batters Vinay Kumar (60) and Ibrahim Khaleel (53) chipped in with useful contributions

Anupam Sanklecha and Suyash Burkul were the pick of Champs bowlers claiming three wickets each.

In reply, the Champs, who had a pretty poor outing in the T20 League last year, continued to live upto their reputation with yet another batting display. Mumbai side was all out for 196 in just 42.5 overs.

Dheeraj Jadhav fought a lone battle in the losing cause with an unbeaten 101 studded with 12 boundaries. Ranjit Khirid was the other notable contributor with 47-ball 31 inclusive of two fours and a six.

Shashank Nag and Dheeraj Jadhav were jointly adjudged man-of the match.

Kaushik Reddy of Heroes bagged three wickets. Heroes picked up a bonus point in today's match.
